What should I do when the computer has prompted me to reboot several times during Pathway Studio Explore installation?

Description:

The message reads “The computer restart is pending. To continue the installation, please restart your computer and run the installer again.”

Resolution:

Installation and operation of Pathway Studio Explore requires two additional components: Windows Installer 4.5 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. Depending on your computer configuration, you may be required to reboot after the installation of each component. Please restart your computer each time you are prompted and rerun the installer after the computer has been restarted.

If after you have restarted your computer several times, you are still getting the above prompt, please follow the steps below to override the reboot check and proceed to install PS Explore.

1.     Open a command prompt window (Start > Run > type cmd).

2.     Navigate to the directory that contains your Pathway Studio executable file:

·         Desktop customers: Go to the Applications subdirectory of the drive containing the DVD, e.g., cd D:\Applications where the DVD is loaded on the D drive.

3.     Run the below command in the command prompt window to start the installation process:

> EZ_Pathway_Setup.exe /v"PENDING_REBOOT_CHECK=no"

Please be advised that we highly recommend that you restart your computer as prompted and should only use the above command as a last resort.
