Can I filter a pathway based on confidence?
It is possible to sort the relationships based on the number of references that support that relationship found in the database. Relationships with a high number of references are likely to be relationships that are fairly well studied and established in the literature. Relationships with low numbers of references may have a low number because 1). they are newly identified relationships or rarely studied relationships and thus do not have a lot of supporting literature or 2.) they are false positives from the MedScan extraction.
When examining a pathway, select the Relationship View to see the information about the relationships in the pathway in tabular form. You can sort the table by “# of References” to see the number of supporting references for each relationship. If desired, relationships with the number of references below a desired threshold can be deleted.
Recall that the Relationship View is linked to the graph view. Relationships deleted from the Relationship View are also deleted from the Graph (however they are not deleted from the ResNet database).
