Why does MedScan reader highlight some entities in the marked up text view but then does not list those same entities in the resultant Entity List in the Current Digest Pane (in the upper right)?

MedScan Reader will mark up all the entities that are recognized in the specific MedScan dictionary that is currently being used.  The dictionary contains not only the names of the entities but also includes alias names for many entities.  The alias names will be recognized and highlighted in the marked up text, but will be listed in the Current Digest Pane by their display name, not their alias name.

To find out if the marked up entity is an alias name or the display name, type the name in the “Type a Fact” box on the MedScan Reader Project Home page and select “Import.”  The display name for that entity will appear in the Current Digest pane (example:  Import  the alias “erbb1” and “EGFR” will be listed in the Current Digest pane on the right).
