How can I add proteins to a functional class?

You can add proteins to an existing functional class or a newly created functional class by doing the following:

1.  Open a new pathway and add to the pathway the functional class and all the proteins that are to be added to the functional class.

2.  Double-click on the function class to open its Properties dialog.

3.  In the Properties dialog of the functional class, select the Members tab.

4.  In the Members tab, select, “Open List in Bottom Pane,” then select “OK” to close the Properties dialog.   The bottom list pane will open.

5.  Select the proteins to add the Functional Class.  Select Edit >Copy (or Ctrl-C) to copy them to the clip board.

6.  Next paste the proteins into the List Pane:

  a.  Move the mouse to the list pane and left-click to select the list pane

  b.  Select Ctrl-V to paste the clip board contents to the list pane.  The list of selected proteins will now appear in the list pane.

Note:  To visualize the added proteins listed in the members tab of the functional class, you first need to save the pathway containing the functional class.
