How do I import a list of proteins?

In the database pane, select Import.  From the drop-down menu select “Gene List”. The following dialog box appears (Figure 1).

Identifies such as Entrez GeneID, Name, Name+alias, GeneBank ID, Unigene ID, KEGG ID, Homologene ID, MGI ID, RGD ID and Hugo ID can be used.  The ID list can be imported from a file or simply pasted into the dialog box.  Select the appropriate ID from the drop down list to match the ID format that you are importing. (Figure 2)

Once the IDs are loaded, select “Look up in Database” to map the IDs to ones found in the database. (Figure 3)

IDs that do not map to any ID in the ResNet database are indicated by “not found”.  When an ID maps to more than one ID in the database, the ambiguity is highlighted in pink.  The user is prompted to  select the undesired mapping and use the Deleted Selected key to remove it from the list.  Once the ambiguities have been removed, select “Finished” to import the list.
