The ResNetŪ Family of Databases

Ariadne ResNet® Databases contain a comprehensive and highly accurate collection of information regarding biological relationships and associations, interactions and facts, which have been extracted from biomedical literature using Ariadne's MedScan® technology.  Use of either the ResNet Mammalian Database or the ResNet Plant Database is included in a subscription license to Pathway Studio®.

There are currently two ResNet databases available:

  • ResNet Mammalian Database, which includes protein interaction data for Human, Rat, and Mouse;
  • ResNet Plant Database, which includes protein interaction data for Arabidopsis, with gene and protein definitions for Barley, Corn, Tobacco, Potato, Rice, Sorghum, Soybean, Tomato, and Wheat.

The ResNet databases integrate information harvested by Ariadne MedScan from the entire corpus of abstracts in PubMed and from publically available full-text journals and publically available reference databases.  Entities in ResNet are linked back to standards based identifiers that ensures the data is fully integrated and enables homogeneous searching, retrieval and updating by the Pathway Studio user.  ResNet is seamlessly installed during Pathway Studio installation.

Features of ResNet

  • Myriad biological relations appreciably covering the entire scope of published research,
  • Multiple references supporting each biological relationship with linked access to the original article or abstract,
  • Multiple aliases and identifiers loaded for entities such as various gene identifiers, protein names, and compound ids,
  • MedScan technology in Pathway Studio enables users to update relationships as well as develop focused information resources for mining in Pathway Studio, and
  • Database updates are provided to all subscribers by Ariadne on a regular basis.
